The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) said that a fugitive wanted out of Maury County for homicide has been found and taken into custody.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) said that a fugitive wanted out of Maury County for homicide has been found and taken into custody.
Michael Van Dobbs was taken into custody on Friday, according to a social media post from the TBI. He was accused of killing 37-year-old Harold “BJ” Grisham III.

Based on documents from the Maury County Sheriff’s Department, Dobbs’ criminal history there started in 2002. Records show a total of 44 charges against Dobbs in the span of 21 years, including theft, burglary, drug-related offenses, child endangerment, and assault.
He had been considered armed and dangerous and was placed on Tennessee’s Most Wanted list of fugitives.
