CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Two astronomical phenomena are happening Tuesday night, a supermoon and a lunar eclipse.

The 22News Storm Team explains them both and how to get the best view.

The supermoon on Tuesday evening will be 30% brighter and 14% larger than your average full moon and will also be partially blocked by the Earth’s shadow. The eclipse starts at 8:41 p.m. and peaks at 10:44 p.m. The eclipse ends at 12:47 a.m.
