SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man accused of killing another man during a carjacking in a Santa Fe parking lot last month has pled not guilty to his federal charges. Zachary Babitz was arraigned on carjacking and firearm charges in federal court Tuesday morning.


5 suspects named in indictment for New Mexico gun trafficking case

He’s accused of stealing 83-year-old Gordon Wilson’s car after shooting and killing him in the Best Buy parking lot in Santa Fe in August. Federal investigators also said he used a gun to rob an Auto Zone, Jersey Mike’s, Arby’s, and a Wells Fargo bank. Babitz was arrested in Las Cruces a few days after Wilson’s murder.
