WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – It’s Connecticut Day at The Big E, which is typically one of the most popular days at the fair.

A look at the Big E’s agricultural heritage

Wednesday’s celebration draws thousands of people across state lines to join in the festivities, and this year will highlight the new improvements made to the Connecticut building ahead of the fair.

Besides showcasing the building’s renovations, there will be over 10 hours of live music on the front lawn by several bands and musicians, including Nashville artist Nick Bosse, the School of Rock New Canaan House Band, and the Connecticut rock band Red Light.

When you head inside the building, check out the new interactive “Ct zone”, shop Connecticut merchandise, and some insta-worthy backdrops and visuals for visitors looking for that perfect photo-op. More than 50 vendors will be exhibiting in the building this year, including new and returning restaurants and artisans from around the nutmeg state.

This historically busy day will bring more traffic to the area, so plan for your trips. The Avenue of States opens at 9:00 a.m., so mornings should be okay, but the worst time will be Wednesday night. The Avenue of States closes at 9:00 p.m. and the fair itself closes at 10:00 p.m. Gates to the fair open at 8:00 a.m.
