Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, praised the army as the people’s refuge, especially during disasters, the army has deployed personnel, equipment, and various tools to help the people with dedication, full capacity, and continuously, showing that the army is always by their side and never abandons the people.
The Prime Minister said that from the report, the army has been helping people since the incident until the situation has improved in Chiang Rai, Nan, Nong Khai, Loei, Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Ratchaburi, Ubon Ratchathani, and Kalasin provinces. The army has helped people as follows: 1. Helping people clean mud (Ban Lao Liu, Mae Salong Nai Subdistrict, Mae Fah Luang District, Chiang Rai Province) 2. Patrol to prevent crime, monitor safety and take care of people’s property in flood-affected areas (Mae Sai, Chiang Rai) 3. Installing a field water supply set to produce temporary water supply in 4 locations
To relieve the suffering of Chiang Rai people 4. Restore/improve school buildings damaged by floods (Ban Pon School, Pon Subdistrict, Thung Chang District, Nan Province) and 5. Help people in Nong Khai area by filling sandbags and placing them to reinforce the barrier to prevent the Mekong River from flowing into the area to create a water barrier (Ban Pak Mang, Village No. 12, Kong Nang Subdistrict, Tha Bo District, Nong Khai Province). I would like to encourage the army and all personnel working in the area to help people. Please work carefully and with safety as the main concern.
