CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – We’ve had some warm temperatures so far this September.

According to NOAA, August 2024 was the warmest August on record.

The global average temperature for August was 2.29 degrees above the 20th-century average of 60.1, making it the warmest August on record. This also marks the 15th month in a row of record-high global temperatures.

Ken Parsons of Chicopee told 22News, “Well I think the humidity has been awful this year compared to years in the past that I can remember so the heat and the humidity has been abnormal.”

The Annual Global Temperature Outlook indicates that there is a 97% chance that 2024 will rank as the warmest year on record. So far September has been a pretty warm month, especially for us here in western Massachusetts.
