ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– Uncommon Grounds, a bagel and coffee shop, is expanding to another location. The shop is opening a new location in the Empire State Plaza concourse.
Uncommon Grounds will be taking over the former Au Bon Pain space. The bakery closed its Empire State Plaza location in February, due to staffing shortages.
Currently the space is undergoing some renovations. According to the Office of General Services, the shop will open mid-to late October.
The coffee shop recently opened a Queensbury location and is set to open another location in Delmar. But they also have locations in Saratoga Springs, Stuyvesant Plaza, University Plaza in Albany and Clifton Park.
Uncommon Grounds was started in 1992 as Uncommon Grounds Coffee and Tea in Saratoga Springs. The shops are known for New York City-style bagels, arabica coffee and their loose-leaf tea beverages.
Uncommon Grounds will be joining Taco Libre Express and Herbie’s Burgers in the Plaza. Discussions to fill the remaining spaces are still happening, according to OGS.
