[1] Report card shows which NM agencies are doing well and which are struggling – Performance ratings for state departments in New Mexico were presented to the legislative finance committee. In the report card, courts and justice agencies, the Economic Development Department, the Tourism Department, and the Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources Department all had strong performances. The Health Care Authority, Department of Health, CYFD and Public Education Department were all failing to meet their targets. 

[2] Trailer stolen on side of I-25 in Albuquerque along with ATV and elk meat – An Oklahoma man hunting in New Mexico is out tens of thousands of dollars after someone stole his trailer and the thieves also got away with a lot more. On Monday, Cole Register said he left the trailer unattended for a short period of time while he went to pick up some tools to repair it. When he returned, the trailer was gone. Register said the trailer had his ATV, camping gear and the elk he just hunted. He says he’s now out of roughly $20,000. He’s asking anyone that may know anything to contact him at cole.register@yahoo.com or the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

[3] Stormy weather in eastern New Mexico, but dry to the west – As a storm system approaches from the Southwest, air-masses will collide and shift this weekend. As temperatures rise across the region an influx of sub-tropical moisture from the south, along with daytime heating, will lead to more-widespread showers, then thunderstorms, across the eastern half of New Mexico.

[4] PNM launches program to prepare students in electric utility – The PNM Power Pros program helps train students to become electric utility professionals. The program includes hands-on training and classroom teaching. The program launched in three New Mexico high schools with plans to expand into more.  Students who complete the program receive career and technical education course credits and OSHA 10 certification.

[5] Bernalillo County’s 2024 East Mountain Celebration – The East Mountain Celebration is returning to the Vista Grande Community Center from noon – 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 22. The event this year will spotlight First responder appreciation and fire safety and awareness. The event will feature live music and dance performances, a car show presented by the Village of Tijeras, artisan vendors, food trucks, a beer garden, information booths and more.
