Four hotels in Middle Tennessee have earned a spot on MICHELIN’s Key Hotels list, which highlights the most outstanding stays across America.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Four hotels in Middle Tennessee have earned a spot on MICHELIN’s Key Hotels list, which highlights the most outstanding stays across America.
The 2024 MICHELIN Guide hotel selection included 16 Three Key hotels, 70 Key hotels, and 207 One Key hotels in the United States.
According to MICHELIN, the guide’s “key” system is similar to its restaurant star system. One key indicates that the hotel is a “very special” stay, two keys means its an “exceptional” stay, and three keys are given to “extraordinary” stays.
Although there were no Tennessee hotels named in the three keys tier, several still landed on the list. Here’s what to know about the Middle Tennessee hotels that were named among the best stays in the nation.

Hermitage Hotel
The Hermitage Hotel, located at 231 6th Ave. N. in Nashville, features luxurious amenities and is the only hotel in Tennessee to hold the distinction of National Historical Landmark, according to their website.
Opened in 1910, The Hermitage Hotel was Nashville’s first million-dollar hotel. According to the Michelin Guide, the rooms were billed at $2 and up when the hotel first opened.
“The Hermitage is luxury all the way, going so far as to offer etiquette classes, afternoon tea in the lobby, and a dog walking service,” wrote the Michelin Guide.
This is not the first national recognition for the Nashville landmark. In fact, Fordors Travel named the hotel among the “most incredible in the world” in 2023, highlighting the hotel’s “elegant grandeur.”
One Key Stays
Very special stays
Southall Farm and Inn
Farm-based luxury resort, Southall, opened in 2022. The property sits along a massive 325-acres and was initially intended to be a working farm in the heart of Franklin, per a previous News’s 2 report.
Southall Farm & Inn, located at 2200 Osage Loop in Franklin, features 62 guestrooms along with 16 separate cottages.
“The rooms, suites, and cottages vary in size and layout, but all are a handsome mix of modern style and retro playfulness; comfort is assured, both in-room and in Southall’s substantial spa,” said Michelin Guide.
According to the hotel, the main mission for Southall is sustainability, with the focus on fitting into the ecosystem and the community.
1 Hotel Nashville
“1 Hotel on Demonbreun Street offers guests a high-luxury, high-design, ultra-sustainable hospitality experience,” wrote Michelin Guide.
According to the hotel, once guests arrive to the property, they’ll be greeted by 56,000 flourishing plants, which all grow on the property’s ivy facade.
Michelin’s Guide also praised the hotel for rooms that “are stylish in a laid-back way, with surfaces in touchably organic materials; the views of downtown Nashville are impressive, and some units come with outdoor terraces.”
1 Hotel Nashville features a wellness spa, a rooftop restaurant, yoga classes, and live music.
Soho House Nashville
Unlike other hotels mentioned on the list, Soho House requires guests to obtain a membership to stay there and use the services.
Located in a former sock factory, Soho House Nashville is the largest outpost in North America, featuring open club spaces, an inviting garden and three performance stages, according to the hotel.
As of Sept. 2024, a membership started at $712.50 quarterly for members and $356.25 for those aged 27 and under.
“The style is inimitable, thoroughly contemporary but with plenty of retro influence, and the comforts, though not ostentatious, are quietly on the level of any big-name luxury hotel,” wrote the Michelin Guide.
