The Thai Taekwondo Poomsae team has made a name for themselves in the land of Kimchi after winning 5 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals at the Seoul Cup International Open Taekwondo Championships in Seoul, South Korea, as well as taking home the Best Team trophy and 3 Best Athlete awards. “Big A” Asst. Prof. Pimol Srivikorn, President of the Taekwondo Sports Association, praised the excellence of the Thai Poomsae and set a big goal to win the World Championship in Hong Kong in November.

Assoc. Prof. Pimol Srivikorn, President of the Taekwondo Association of Thailand, said that last week, the association sent the Thai national Taekwondo Poomsae team to participate in the 2024 Seoul Cup International Open Taekwondo Championships in Seoul, South Korea, with Coach Lina Yeon as the team supervisor. Most recently, on September 21, the Thai national taekwondo team performed outstandingly, winning 5 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals. This allowed them to win the Best Team trophy, as well as the Best of the Best trophy for the best athlete in the male public category, Mr. Worapol Siangliu, the male youth category, Mr. Phirachan Manamungprasert, and the female youth category, Ms. Watcharakun Limjittrakarn. “It was an excellent achievement. We must commend all the athletes, including Coach Lina Yeon, who worked together to create success for Thai taekwondo. This year, we were able to perform well in 2 international events and win many gold medals. However, we still have big goals ahead of us. It is the World Poomsae Championships in mid-November in Hong Kong. The association will send competitors in every category, even the age group of 30 and up. We aim to win at least one world championship. I believe that the standard of taekwondo poomsae in Thailand is now higher and there is a definite chance of success,” said Asst. Prof. Pimol. As for the results of the 2024 Seoul Cup International Open Taekwondo Championships, there are 5 gold medals in individual poomsae, each category: Ms. Pichamon Limpaiboon, Ms. Watcharakul Limjittrakarn, Mr. Woraphon Siangliu, Mr. Suwaphit Sirisinrungruang and Mr. Phirachan Manamungprasit; 5 silver medals in individual poomsae, each category: Ms. Ornawee Srisakakij, Ms. Thansinee Mukda, Ms. Thitaree Kaewolarawasu, Mr. Jiraphong Khetlak, Mr. Natthachai Suta; 2 gold medals Single Poomsae category: Ms. Naphasorn Pitinanon and Mr. Natthaphat Kaewkan
