NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The threat of severe weather returns to middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky this week.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a level one out of five marginal risk for severe thunderstorms. The risk is low, but any risk of severe weather can cause damage.

There will be heavy rain with all the thunderstorms. Some of the stronger storms may produce damaging wind gusts and small hail. There is no risk of tornadoes.

These storms will be along a cold front. The front will move through late Monday night into Tuesday morning.

This means you need to be weather alert Monday night through Tuesday afternoon.
