In a press release, officials from the Maui Police Department announced the increased activity is a response to an apparent threat made towards the school.


Public assistance needed in deadly Waikapu shooting

According to MPD, officers are actively investigating the threat, working with school officials to assess the situation.

“While we understand that this heightened presence may cause some concern, please be assured that we are taking all necessary precautions to address the situation swiftly and effectively,” said Maui police in a press release.

The public is urged to remain vigilant and is asked to report suspicious activity or information to MPD immediately.
