Orellana was reported missing by her mother on Aug. 21 after last being seen at her Antioch apartment a few days earlier. According to her mother, the 23-year-old said she was going to Murfreesboro to visit a family member.

“Some days, I think they took her and some days, I don’t really think anything,” Blanca’s mother, Ines Berrios told News 2 through a translator.

Berrios said Orellana’s car was found parked at her stepfather’s house, but the family hasn’t been able to get ahold of him.

On Sept. 12, a tip led investigators to a home in Lebanon where neighbors reported seeing Orellana working just a few weeks before her disappearance.

Orellana reportedly had a job in the cleaning business. However, officials have not said exactly what led them to the property off Burnt House Road where her remains were found.

Neighbors told reporters they saw officers haul off a dumpster sitting on the property during the search.

The ongoing multi-jurisdictional investigation into her death is being led by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation with assistance from MNPD Missing Persons detectives as well as authorities in Wilson and Rutherford counties.

Officials did not say whether they believe foul play is involved in her death. No further information was immediately available.
