APD used a helicopter to track the vehicle.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A 21-year-old is facing several charges after fleeing from police over the weekend.

Albuquerque Police Department (APD) said early Sunday morning an officer spotted a vehicle without a registration plate on Central near Downtown. They said the driver, Brian Rosales, fled from the officer.

One of the ‘rudest’ cities in America is in New Mexico, according to a 2024 survey

The helicopter tracked the car, which was traveling, at one point, 140 miles per hour on I-40.

Police used a spike strip, and forced Rosales to stop at the Owl Cafe on Eubank, where they arrested him.

When officers asked whose car it was, they were surprised by the answer.

Officer: Whose car?
Rosales: It’s my girlfriend’s.
Officer: She’s not going to be your girlfriend anymore.

Rosales is facing charges of aggravated fleeing of a law enforcement officer.
