It’s been over 100 days since a young girl was reported missing out of Hermitage, and still, she has yet to be found.

HERMITAGE, Tenn. (WKRN) — It’s been over 100 days since a young girl was reported missing out of Hermitage, and still, she has yet to be found.

On Monday, Sept. 23, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) called on the public to help detectives find 17-year-old Ja’Niyiah Wheeler and bring her home.


TN’s missing children: Over three dozen kids still haven’t been found

Wheeler has reportedly been missing since May 27, and has been listed among over three dozen other missing children on the TBI’s website since Sept. 11.

According to authorities, the children listed may be in a variety of circumstances, including parental abductions or those who’ve left home on their own. Some are also considered to be “at risk.”

On average, nearly 500 to 600 Tennessee children go missing each month. However, the TBI said publicity can prove helpful in finding them.

Investigators believe Wheeler may still be in the Hermitage area or possibly East Nashville. She is about 5-feet, 4-inches tall, weighs around 175 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
