A Springfield man was turned over to the FBI after a search inside a home on Union Street found two men wanted on arrest warrants.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Two people from Springfield who were wanted for multiple warrants were arrested on Tuesday.


Two Springfield men arrested for drugs, guns found in Vermont

According to Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh, members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) received information on Tuesday about two suspects with outstanding warrants were seen together inside a home on Alderman Street. A search warrant was executed that afternoon and both of the suspects were taken into custody.

One of the suspects, 27-year-old Luis Semprit of Springfield, was wanted for several different offenses that are alleged to have taken place on June 9th, June 29th, and July 3rd in Springfield. Members of the Springfield Police Special Victims Unit applied for and were granted a warrant for his arrest. Semprit also has prior drug and illegal firearms convictions and has open firearm charges that are pending in Hampden Superior Court.

The other suspect, 22-year-old Gianni Gamble of Springfield, was taken into custody on a Federal Arrest Warrant from Vermont and was turned over to the FBI after he was booked as being a lodger.

27-year-old Luis Semprit of Springfield is charged with:

Arrest Warrant
– Assault & Battery on a Person 60+/Disabled (Six Counts)
– Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
– Breaking and Entering into a Building Daytime for a Felony
– Destruction of Property Less than $1200
– Strangulation or Suffocation
– Threat to Commit a Crime
– Violation of an Abuse Prevention Order (Three Counts)
