NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A Worcester-based restaurant is opening a second location inside Thornes Marketplace in downtown Northampton.

Suzette French Creperie is set to open on the first floor of Thornes in mid-November. The French specialties include crepes, macarons, and frozen to-go delicacies such as beef bourguignon, chicken blanquette, riesling chicken, or Navarin D’agneau, which is lamb ragout.

In a news release sent to 22News from Thornes Marketplace, French-born Jean-Luc Wittner and his wife, Evelyn Darling opened their business in Worcester in 2020. The couples two sons, Clement “Clem” and Marc are also working to help open the second location in Northampton.

“What makes our success is we have savory and sweet, vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options,” said Wittner, a self-taught chef with a deep respect for Julia Child and a passion for creating delicacies. “We also focus on quality and convenience. Our offerings resonate with a broad range of customers, from those seeking a quick snack to those in search of gourmet meals.”

“We fell in love with Thornes Marketplace—the look of it, the tenants there. It’s like a small family business,” Jean-Luc Wittner said. “That’s who we are. That place is us.”

The restaurant name Suzette French Creperie, orginates from the classic recipe Crepes Suzette. Jean-Luc Wittner built the business along side his wife tailoring recipes online and in cookbooks. The shop sells his master creation of French macarons, in 10 different flavors.
