The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that 33-year-old Benz Coleman, of Colonie, pleaded guilty on Thursday to felony drug trafficking.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that 33-year-old Benz Coleman, of Colonie, pleaded guilty on Thursday to felony drug trafficking. Coleman now faces up to 40 years in prison.

As part of his plea, Coleman admitted that on January 31, he possessed over 3,000 fentanyl pills and nearly a half ounce of cocaine, all of which he intended to sell. He also confessed to selling another person over 2,400 fentanyl pills between November 1, 2023, and January 31, 2024.

Coleman faces a minimum sentence of five years, as well as a term of post-release supervision of at least four years and up to life. His sentencing is scheduled for February 12, 2025.
