CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A 26-year-old Johns Island man has been charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Charleston County deputies executed a search warrant on David Evan Leonard’s Oswald Street home on Tuesday after the South Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children task force received a cyber tip.

An affidavit shows Leonard transmitted files that contained depictions of children in states of sexually explicit nudity or engaging in sexual activity to a cloud storage site. The document says children in the files ranged in age from 7 to 13.

Leonard is charged with four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree. He was given a $40,000 bond during a hearing on Wednesday.
