CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Most areas across western Massachusetts picked up around a half inch of rainfall on Thursday.
For September, Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee picked up .70 inches of rain. On average September usually has around 3.9 inches of rain. So it has been a dry month.
According to the latest U.S. drought monitor, all of western Massachusetts is now in the abnormally dry category. In October, the good news is that it is calling for wetter-than-average conditions for New England.
