Berkshire County officials said police are searching for a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run early Saturday morning. Officials said a motorist unrelated to the crash called police around 6:44 a.m. after they saw a person lying on the side of the road on Route 102 in Stockbridge.
STOCKBRIDGE, Mass.– (NEWS10)– Berkshire County officials said police are searching for a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run early Saturday morning. Officials said a motorist unrelated to the crash called police around 6:44 a.m. after they saw a person lying on the side of the road on Route 102 in Stockbridge.
County officials said when police arrived on the scene near the 4.1-mile marker on Route 102, the man was unresponsive and was pronounced dead by a Lee Ambulance paramedic. Evidence recovered from the scene included parts of a car, making it appear as a hit-and-run.
Officials added it appeared the victim was riding an electric scooter before he was hit, and the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
