NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a stolen vehicle in downtown Nashville Monday morning.

The crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Commerce Street and Rep. John Lewis Way.

According to Metro police, the stolen vehicle hit the pedestrian and multiple suspects ran away from the crash scene. The vehicle also hit a street sign and a fire hydrant before crashing into a building.

The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital for treatment of critical injuries.

The suspects were later taken into custody near the intersection of Dickerson Pike and Ewing Drive, according to Metro police.

No additional information was immediately released.
