ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man is facing charges related to a fatal crash on Central Ave. last month. According to the Albuquerque Police Department, the driver of a black Dodge truck lost control on Central near 47th Street, veered into oncoming traffic, and hit another vehicle head on. The driver of the second vehicle, identified as Carlos Lucero, was killed. The driver and passenger in the truck were taken to the hospital.
APD recently arrested Edgar Silva in connection to the fatal crash. They believe Silva was racing with another truck at the time. The state asked for Silva to be kept in custody through trial, but Judge Courtney Weaks denied the motion. Silva was released to pretrial services.
