In total, Rucker was indicted for:

Two counts first degree felony murder.

One count attempted first degree murder.

One count felony possession of a firearm.

Six counts felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

One count felony dangerous weapon possession with prior felony conviction.

Rucker was previously indicted by a federal grand jury of unlawful possession of a fire arm and ammunition earlier this summer for the Easter shooting and a separate incident last August. The U.S. Department of Justice also charged Rucker with unlawful firearm possession for a road rage incident in Murfreesboro on Aug. 26, 2023.

According to the Department of Justice, Rucker passed another driver on a double yellow line and pulled in front of him, cutting the driver off and causing him to slam on his brakes to avoid a crash that day. Then, Rucker allegedly stopped his car, walked to the other driver’s vehicle, and started arguing with him before brandishing a gun.

The Easter shooting was reported just after 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, at Roasted Salemtown in the 600 block of Garfield Street near Germantown.

Allen Beachem, 33, of Alabama, was killed. Five other gunshot victims ended up with non-critical injuries; one person was brought to the hospital with a possible graze that could have been sustained while brushing up against a piece of sharp furniture; and a pregnant woman had a panic attack but was otherwise not physically wounded.

Police records from the Metro Nashville Police Department show he was out on bond for aggravated assault and being a felon in possession of a weapon, as well as three felony drug charges out of Rutherford County from last August and last October, when the shooting took place.

Witness statements indicated Rucker got into a verbal altercation with a man, later identified as Beachem, before pulling out his gun and opening fire.

Rucker initially went on the run but was apprehended in Princeton, Kentucky, two days later.
