MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – People across the Lowcountry are looking for ways to support neighbors in the Upstate impacted by Hurricane Helene last week.
In many areas, people are without food, water, and other essential supplies after experiencing the storm’s devastating winds and flooding.
News 2 is partnering with UNITS to collect storm relief supplies and essential items. The supplies will be delivered to residents in South Carolina’s Upstate region.
People willing to donate can drop off items at News 2 (210 W. Coleman Boulevard) between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Accepted items include:
Non-perishable food items
Water and sports drinks
Flashlights and batteries
Paper towels and paper products (plates, bowls, cups, flatware)
Baby diapers, wipes, and other essentials
Personal hygiene items
Feminine hygiene items
Cleaning supplies and trash bags
If you cannot deliver supplies, please consider a monetary donation to the American Red Cross through our company’s Hurricane Helene relief portal. The funds raised will go directly to storm relief efforts.
