For the ACD framework, a working group has been established to drive 6 pillars of cooperation:

3. Iran chairs the working group on education and human resource development.
4. China chairs the working group on the linkages between food, energy and water security.
5. Iran chairs the working group on culture and tourism.
6. Thailand chairs the working group on promoting approaches to inclusive and sustainable development.

The chairman of each working group has a mission to organize meetings to discuss. and organize related activities to drive cooperation. The chairman of the said working group has a one-year term and must be re-selected every time the ACD president changes. ACD member countries are in the process of considering the establishment of a trade and investment cooperation pillar.
