ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The New Mexico Film Office (NMFO) has announced a new Netflix series will soon be in production. “The Boroughs” will be filmed in and around Albuquerque.

An NMFO press release says the production will employ over 2,000 New Mexicans – 275 crew members, 32 principal actors, and 1,934 background talent. The eight-episode supernatural mystery will star Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare, Clarke Peters, and Bill Pullman.


Netflix unveils expanded studio space in Albuquerque

The release states the show takes place in a seemingly picturesque retirement community, where a group of unlikely heroes must band together to stop an otherworldly threat from stealing the one thing they don’t have – time. Ben Taylor will direct multiple episodes, including the pilot. He will also serve as executive producer alongside the Duffer Brothers and Hilary Leavitt.
