ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The back-to-back Gatorade New Mexico boys basketball player of the year has made his college decision. Volcano Vista senior Kenyon Aguino revealed that he is taking his talents to the University of Montana.

“It was definitely a tough decision,” said Aguino. “We came down here the other night and sat for three hours just talking about it and finally came to the conclusion that who I was most comfortable with. The coaching staff is great. You know, they were communicating with me every single day. Coach Flo, Coach Secure are great coaches.”

During his time at Volcano Vista, Aguino has played a crucial role in each of the Hawks’ three consecutive titles. The 6-7, 205-pound forward finished his junior season with 22.7 points and 11 rebounds per game while averaging 64% from inside the arc and 47.4% from 3-point range.
