NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Celebrate the rich Latin and Caribbean cultures of Charleston at the Latin American Festival on Sunday, October 6, from 12 to 5 p.m. at Wannamaker County Park in North Charleston.

Charleston County Parks invites the community to enjoy a day of authentic music, dance, and food representing the vibrant traditions of Latin America and the Caribbean. Attendees will experience non-stop music featuring merengue, reggaeton, bachata, and salsa, along with folkloric artwork, crafts, and a variety of Latin and Caribbean foods. Food vendors will offer dishes like empanadas and arroz con pollo, as well as an array of delicious desserts.

This year’s live music lineup includes performances by the renowned Billo’s Caracas Boys and the NC Brazilian Arts Project. New this year, samba lessons will be held at 1 p.m. on the main stage. Additionally, the popular Salsa Dance Contest will take place at 2:30 p.m.

Main Stage Schedule:

12:00 p.m.: Gates Open

1:00 – 1:15 p.m.: Samba Lessons

1:30 – 2:30 p.m.: NC Brazilian Arts Project

2:30 – 3:00 p.m.: Salsa Dance Contest

3:15 – 5:00 p.m.: Billo’s Caracas Boys

Billo’s Caracas Boys, a 16-piece Venezuelan orchestra founded in 1940, is set to headline the festival at 3:15 p.m. The group is known as one of the most influential Latin orchestras of all time. Performing earlier at 1:30 p.m., the NC Brazilian Arts Project will showcase Brazilian music and dance styles like samba, capoeira, and more.

Families can also enjoy children’s games and an educational area presented by the Charleston County Public Library.

Event Details:

Admission: $25 per vehicle (up to 15 people) at the gate. Gold Pass holders get free entry.

Food, beverages, and souvenirs will be available for purchase on-site.

No outside food, alcohol, coolers, or pets are allowed.

Accessible parking and restrooms will be available, along with a sensory-friendly tent and quiet area.
