AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Multiple fire crews assisted in the rescue of a driver who ended up in the Connecticut Riverbank in Agawam Sunday afternoon.
Springfield Fire, along with Agawam, West Springfield, and Longmeadow responded to the incident around 2 p.m. Sunday. A 911 caller reported a Jeep driving on the riverbank and being swept away.
The driver was rescued from the river at the Springfield Yacht and Canoe Club in Agawam and was taken to the hospital.
The driver is expected to be okay.
