A 68-year-old man is expected to be arraigned on a murder charge in Springfield District Court on Monday morning.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A 68-year-old man is expected to be arraigned on a murder charge in Springfield District Court on Monday morning.

Springfield Police spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News Erving Mcleod of Springfield was arrested Friday in connection to a deadly shooting early Wednesday morning on Hancock Street.

Police were sent to the 200 block of Hancock Street around 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday after a ShotSpotter activation. When officers arrived, found an adult man with gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where he died due to his injuries.

The identity of the victim has not been released. He’s described only as an adult man.

McLeod faces charges including murder, armed robbery, carrying a firearm without a license, and a default warrant.
