SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Dave’s Gourmet Burgers and More, located at 16 Edison Avenue in Schenectady, has permanently closed its doors. The restaurant made the announcement on its Facebook page on October 5.
“Compelled by medical circumstances, we have closed our restaurant permanently, marking the beginning of Chef Dave’s retirement,” read the post. “We are indebted to our devoted customers and friends who have stood by him.”
Dave’s Gourmet Burgers and More closed temporarily on March 1. The announcement was made that day on the Facebook page with no additional information.
Dave’s Gourmet Burgers and More first opened on Broadway in Schenectady in 2016 before moving to Edison Avenue. The restaurant served fish fries, hamburgers, hot dogs, burritos, gyros, fries, and more.
“Throughout his career, Chef Dave has been a cornerstone of the community, facing and overcoming numerous difficulties, including racism. Despite encountering opinions rooted in anger and misinformation, we are thankful for those who have consistently demonstrated support and understanding. We hold each of you in the highest regard and appreciation,” read the rest of the closure post.
