Brian Connard Jr., 22, was arrested on a first-degree murder indictment for the deadly April 12 shooting of 23-year-old Vidal T. York. The deadly shooting had taken place at The Cascades apartment complex in the 3300 block of Murfreesboro Pike.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they said they found York, of Smyrna, lying in the parking lot, so an ambulance rushed him to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

“Connard was taken into custody when a car in which he was riding parked on Hermitage Avenue,” a press release from MNPD reads, in part. “Inside the vehicle were three guns, one of which was reported stolen.”
