An Indian tourist was punched unconscious on Pattaya Beach after allegedly harassing a Thai woman.

On October 9th around 9:47 AM, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center received a report of an Indian tourist being assaulted and injured on Pattaya Beach, opposite Soi 13/4. Rescue workers immediately went to the scene.

There, three Indian tourists were seen helping their unidentified injured friend, who was staggering and bleeding profusely from his face, with a deep gash above his left eyebrow. They were asking for help.

However, when the rescue workers attempted to aid the victim, he reportedly refused assistance and demanded that the rescuers call the police immediately. The rescue team then contacted Pattaya police. Once the authorities arrived, the injured man’s friends implored the officers to catch the attacker and take their friend to the hospital.

According to a Thai woman who witnessed the incident, Ms. Aey (alias), a friend of the alleged attacker, she and her group were sitting by the beach when a group of Indian men, who were drinking alcohol under a coconut tree, approached them to ask to take pictures of them. Initially, they agreed without thinking much of it.

However, the men kept returning for more photos, and on the fifth time, one of the Indian men reportedly inappropriately touched her friend by placing his hand around her waist and rubbing her stomach, even attempting to kiss her. This angered her friend’s husband, leading to an argument and the subsequent punch to the Indian man’s face.

A video clip captured by a bystander showed the Indian man being punched and knocked unconscious on the beach. The bystander also narrated in the video that the Indian men had allegedly harassed the man’s wife first before the altercation occurred.

It was also reported that the Indian tourists dramatically knelt down before the police and pleaded with them to catch the attacker. They stated they did not trust anyone else and would only go to the hospital with the police. They did not respond to the allegations from witnesses and bystanders that they had started the entire altercation through inappropriate touching and actions.

Eventually, the police took the victim to Pattaya Hospital and advised him to file a formal complaint at the Pattaya Police Station to pursue legal action against the perpetrator.
