A 39-year-old Thai woman was arrested on Pattaya Walking Street for carrying a loaded gun. However, she claimed to police that she earlier pulled it to fend off a foreigner, who tried to harass her.
At 5:06 AM on October 11th, Pattaya police received a report of a woman carrying a firearm on Walking Street in South Pattaya. Officers, along with The Pattaya News reporters, quickly went to the scene.
There, officers found 39-year-old Ms. Isaree in an intoxicated state. A search of her bag uncovered a loaded .380 caliber handgun with six rounds of ammunition. Ms. Isaree claimed that she previously drew the weapon to scare off a foreigner who had allegedly attempted to harass her. She insisted she had no intention to harm anyone.
Police took her and the firearm into custody for further legal proceedings.
