Several law enforcement agencies in the area helped escort the trooper to his home, where he will spend the weekend.

TROUSDALE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A trooper with the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) was shot during a traffic stop in July, but on Friday, he was escorted home for the weekend.

Trooper Adam Cothron was shot point-blank on the side of Interstate 40 in Putnam County and has spent much time recovering in an Atlanta rehabilitation center. Cothron is spending this weekend in Tennessee, though, and several area agency partners helped escort him home.
