SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – A woman and two children were hit by a vehicle in Santa Fe on Tuesday, and the driver fled the scene, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened on Paseo de Nopal and deputies said they received a call about the incident at 6:10 p.m. The woman, 40, and kids, ages 8 and 12, were taken to the hospital for injuries. The sheriff’s office said the children were released from the hospital, but the woman remains in the hospital in critical condition as of Wednesday morning.

Deputies found a vehicle that they believed was involved parked at Paseo de La Tierra and Estrada Calabasa. The 2005 Chevy Equinox had front-end damage and matched the description of the vehicle that was allegedly seen fleeing the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
