Three teenagers were arrested after an illegal firearm and drugs were discovered during a traffic stop on School Street in Springfield.
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Three teenagers were arrested after an illegal firearm and drugs were discovered during a traffic stop on School Street in Springfield.
According to the Springfield Police Department, at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officers pulled over a car that did not have a proper inspection sticker. During the traffic stop, an officer allegedly saw a man in the backseat with what appeared to be a gun in his jacket pocket.
The firearm, a ghost gun loaded with 16 rounds of ammunition, was removed and the 17-year-old passenger was arrested. A search of his backpack revealed 26 additional rounds of ammunition, several bags of marijuana, crack-cocaine, a scale, and cash.
During a search of the vehicle, officers seized additional cash, and marijuana that was packaged for sale. The driver, 19-year-old Carlos Ocasio of Springfield, and passenger, 19-year-old Johanna Garcia, both of Springfield were arrested. A total of $1,300 was seized.

Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug
Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug
Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
Violation of Probation Warrant – Hampden Superior Court
Johanna Garcia is charged with the following:
Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law
Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug
The Springfield Police Department did not release the name and charges for the 17-year-old due to his age.
