PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) — Pittsfield High School will reopen on Friday, Oct. 18 after it was closed for two days because of a lack of heat in the building. The district said a temporary boiler was inspected and activated on Thursday.

A new, permanent boiler is in the process of being installed. The state inspector was not available to check the temporary one until Thursday, which prompted the district to cancel classes.

Students and staff are encouraged to wear warm clothing on Friday as the building continues to warm up.
