NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are investigating a Friday afternoon shooting in West Nashville that sent one person to the hospital.

According to Metro Nashville dispatch, the incident was reported shortly after noon on Friday, Oct. 18 in the 4000 block of Murphy Road.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said the victim was riding in a vehicle along Charlotte Pike near 46th Avenue North when another vehicle pulled up and started shooting into the first vehicle.

Authorities said the victim was brought to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers from the West Precinct are reportedly at the hospital, awaiting an update on the victim’s condition.
