HONOLULU (KHON2) — Dozens of security and law enforcement officers were recognized today for their outstanding work in various investigations and community support initiatives.
Among those honored were members of the investigation and prosecution teams from the FBI, IRS, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for their efforts in the Michael Miske investigation.
Additionally, the Visitor Aloha Society received accolades for its role in supporting visitors and enhancing public safety.
Jerry Dolak, president of the Hawaii Hotel Visitor Industry Security Association, emphasized the importance of providing support in traumatic situations.
“It could be something as serious as a death or a robbery,” he said. “After we help someone with their incident, we have someone come in to ensure they are taken care of for the rest of their time here.”
Also recognized during the ceremony was the Maui Police Department’s forensic facility for its dedicated work during the Lahaina wildfire.
