PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A car show will be held Saturday to raise money for State Trooper Adam Cothron, who was injured in a shooting during a traffic stop earlier this year.

On Oct. 19, the “Cruisin for Cothron Car Show” will take place at First Baptist Church, located at 18 S. Walnut Ave. in Cookeville.

The event is organized by State Trooper Lodge 44. Registration will be open from 9 a.m. to noon, and entry fees are $20.

Awards for over a dozen categories will be presented, starting at 12:30 p.m.

On July 19, 2024, Cothron was critically injured after being shot while conducting a traffic stop in Putnam County. Since the shooting, Cothron has been on a long road to recovery.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to Cothron, who is undergoing extensive physical therapy at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta.
