The application period will open on Wednesday, October 23. Here are a few things to know before you apply.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) will open applications for the mid-season Wildlife Management Area (WMA) waterfowl hunt this week.

The application period will open on Wednesday, Oct. 23 and run through Tuesday, Nov. 12. If you are granted an application, you must accept it by Nov. 25. According to the TWRA, applicants must be at least 16 years old.

Additionally, there is a $12 application fee in addition to any vendor fees associated with the method of application submission. Individuals who have valid annual, lifetime or senior sportsman licenses may be exempt from paying these application fees.

These applications utilize the priority point system and require parties of 4 to 8 people. Parties will be considered with the same number of priority points as the member of their party with the most mid-season waterfowl priority points.

The TWRA will not accept applications sent through the mail. Follow this link to complete an online application. You can also apply through the TWRA’s mobile app (available here on Apple’s App Store and here on the Google Play Store). You can also apply in-person at any TWRA regional office or through any TWRA license agent.

Any hunt choices that remain after the TWRA’s drawing will be allocated by in-person drawings, which will take place on Monday, Dec. 9.
