The Rainbow Wahine clinched a spot in the Big West tournament for the third time in program history.

The University of Hawaii soccer team staged a dramatic rally to defeat UC Riverside 2-1 at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex on Sunday evening.

Hawaii improved to 10-6-1 overall and 6-0-1 in Big West play, extending its unbeaten streak to nine. The Rainbow Wahine won 10 games for the first time since 2007 and also clinched a Big West tournament bid for the third time in program history.

Audrey Stewart scored first for UC Riverside (2-12-3, 0-5-3) in the 32nd minute, giving the Highlanders a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Cate Sheahan scored the equalizer for UH in the 61st minute, while Nalani Damacion scored her sixth game-winning goal of the season in the 86th.

Hawaii will again hit the road for a pair of matches, beginning with Cal Poly on Thursday at 4 p.m. HST.
