Bridge Street in Millers Falls has reopened after crews were called to a hazmat incident Monday morning.

MILLERS FALLS, Mass. (WWLP) – Bridge Street in Millers Falls has reopened after crews were called to a hazardous materials (HAZMAT) incident Monday morning.

Massachusetts Department of Fire Services Spokesperson Jake Wark told 22News that a hazmat team was requested to determine whether any substances posed a hazard to first responders or the public after the explosion. There were no hazards were detected, according to Wark.


Greenfield murder suspect due in court

According to the Turners Falls Fire Department, at around 8 a.m. Bridge Street was closed from West Main Street to Newton Street. The road has since reopened.

State Police fire investigators assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s office along with Turners Falls Fire Chief Brunelle are investigating the cause.
