FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) – Farmington Police are investigating a double homicide Monday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the 4900 block of Kayenta Drive in response to a reported breaking and entering around 5:12 a.m. While officers were en route, a shooting occurred in the 2900 block of English Road, where officers later discovered a female who was dead.

Shortly after, another shooting took place in the 3600 block of East Main Street. Officers responding to that scene found a dead male.
Law enforcement found the suspect in the 3800 block of East Main Street, and he was taken into custody.
The police department believes that the first shooting was related to a domestic violence incident and the second shooting took place as the suspect attempted to flee the area
No other information was provided. Police are continuing to investigate.
