Sunshine and warmer temperatures are being felt across New England.

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Sunshine and warmer temperatures are being felt across New England.

Temperatures inching close to 80 degrees on Monday across Western Massachusetts. Warm weather encourages locals to take advantage of what feels like the return of summer.

“A few days ago we were like ‘Oh it’s going up, it’s going up’ so we’re really excited, we even got the kayaks out,” shared Marianne Taylor.

Some bay staters also told 22News they just put their summer clothes away, but Monday’s beautiful weather called for a day on the water, meanwhile others took a stroll in the park.

“We come here almost every day and usually we stay in the woods but since it’s so nice out here, we’re just going to walk all over the place,” shared Darcy Lamore.

Above-average temperatures for this time of year are extending the outdoor season. The message this warmer weather is spreading, take advantage.

Leave the jacket at home and grab some sunscreen while it lasts, because you never know what New England will throw at you.
