The Flood, Storm, and Landslide Disaster Relief Operations Center has issued warnings for 31 provinces to remain vigilant against potential flash floods and landslides due to unstable weather conditions from October 21 to 23. The affected areas span several regions, including provinces in the North, Central, East, Northeast, and South, with some regions identified as highly vulnerable to heavy rains and runoff.
According to the center’s spokesperson, Jirayu Huangsap, the Department of Mineral Resources is working closely with local networks to monitor at-risk areas and ensure a prompt response to any incidents. Provinces such as Chiang Rai, Chonburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Surat Thani are among those listed as being on alert for sudden weather changes.
Meanwhile, the Thai Meteorological Department has reported that a tropical cyclone in the western Pacific Ocean remains distant from Thailand. While the storm is expected to strengthen and head toward the Philippines, initial assessments indicate it is unlikely to impact Thailand. Monitoring of the storm’s trajectory will continue.
In Uthai Thani’s Ban Rai district, where recent flash floods occurred, officials have confirmed that conditions have returned to normal. The floodwaters have flowed into Kra Siew Dam, boosting water reserves without causing downstream problems.
