Albany police have made an arrest in connection to a shooting that took place early Saturday morning in the area of Madison Avenue and Ontario Street.
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Albany police have made an arrest in connection to a shooting that took place early Saturday morning in the area of Madison Avenue and Ontario Street. Police said Cheick Diarra was charged and arraigned at Albany Medical Center.
Around 4 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to Madison Avenue and Ontario Street for reports of shots fired. They found Diarra with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
Police said the 20-year old was one of two people who exchanged gunfire at each other inside the park. Diarra was treated at the scene before being taken to the hospital.
He was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. He was sent to Albany County Jail after his arraignment.
