BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Bernalillo County is moving forward with its North Valley Aquatics Center Public Art Project.


City of Albuquerque accepting nominations for Creative Bravos Awards

The project consists of a mural highlighting aquatic life naturally present in the Rio Grande that will be painted on the north wall of the center. In her proposal, artist Nani Chacon said the mural will be centered around themes of water ecology, stewardship and pride in the native ecological system of the Rio Grande Valley.

The approved budget for the project is $75,000 and the mural is expected to be completed by end of 2025, according to the county.
